Nigel Higgins (Chairman 2019-)

Nigel Higgins became Chairman of Barclays at the AGM on 1 May 2019. He had previously spent 36 years at Rothschild and Co, where he had held a range of positions, culminating in Deputy Chairman.  At Rothschilds, Higgins became the first person outside the Rothschild family to lead the company in its 200-year history when he was appointed Chief Executive Officer.  He is also Chairman of Sadler’s Wells, and a non-executive Director at Tetra Laval International SA.
