
Julian Crossley's diary
This 1964 extract from the diary of Barclays International Chairman, Julian Crossley, describes a visit to New York. He describes places he has visited, people he has met, and offers opinions on American politics and financial affairs. Subjects mentioned include President Johnson; J.P.Morgan; American Express; Chemical Bank; American Airlines, and the Pan Am building . Julian Crossley's diaries survive for 1943-1949, 1951 and 1963-1965. These provide a very intimate account of the work of Barclays International and the thoughts of its chair.
