Retirement notice for C H Alexander
C H Alexander spent his entire career in one building: the old banking house of the Yarmouth and Suffolk Bank on the fish quay in Great Yarmouth. Unusually, he stayed on past the normal retirement age of 60, and died in 1938, aged 78. Judging by this notice in the staff magazine, he was a well-known and much liked figure in the district. The staff magazine, Spread Eagle ran from 1926 to 1981 and often carried features like this, making them a great resource for information about members of staff.
