Revolver, c1850
This revolver was found in a locked box in the Director's room at London City Regional Office in 1990, along with 21 rounds of ammunition. Firearms were a surprisingly common sight in banks in the 18th and 19th centuries, where they were used for defending the bank in times of trouble.
