Sports Club pavilion and bandstand

Family and friends were invited to sports club events, and the annual summer sports day was a great occasion with music, refreshments and children's activities. This photograph shows the original pavilion built by Barclays in the 1920s, which was replaced in 1970 by a large integral sports centre (including outdoor heated swimming pool), described as 'one of the finest in London.'
