Staff at Pilgrim House
Photograph of the staff of Pilgrim House, Westerham, Kent taken in 1942. Pilgrim House became the head office of the Woolwich during World War Two, and had previously been a farm and a private boys school. Staff photographed include senior officials and their personal staff; the mortgage, investment and accounts departments; and house staff. That so many of the staff photographed are women reflects the Woolwich's relaxation of the 'unmarried women only' rule during the war period.
