Then we were dive-bombed at Tobruk
This is one of many drawings by Ronald Warner submitted for publication in Spread Eagle staff magazine. Mr Warner was clerk-in-charge at Dulwich and Downham branches in the 1960s. Many of his papers have been kindly donated to the Archives by his son. Here, an ex-Forces Barclays man entertains his colleagues with a story from one of World War Two's biggest battles, while customers become impatient at the counter. 'Post-War Banking Talks' also refers to refresher courses started for the men when they returned from war service.
