Bourne, Rhodes and Co, Alford

Titus Bourne added a banking business to his solicitor's practice in Alford, Lincolnshire. In 1850, he took Henry Titus Bourne, also a solicitor, into the firm and added Frederick Jackson Rhodes by 1858. In 1861 the partners Margaret Bourne, a widow, and F R Rhodes sold the business to the Stamford and Spalding Banking Co for £534, which was assessed as the average annual gross profit. The bank had no separate premises and issued no notes and would appear to have been a sideline for the legal business.

No records of this bank have come to Group Archives.
