Bridges and Co, Manningtree

Articles of partnership of 1799 refer to 'the said John Marratt and George Bridges having in the year 1790 set up a bank in the town of Manningtree.' Bridges and Company also had banks at Harwich and Hadleigh. Bridges disappeared from banking in 1815 and the business was taken over by Alexander and Company.
