Everards and Co, Kings Lynn

This bank's history has a tradition back to the early seventeenth century when a wine merchant called Hubert Flierden is believed to have operated a bank. He was succeeded by Benjamin Nuthall (merchant banker), followed in 1764 by Audley and Fydell (wine merchants), and in 1807 by Messrs Bagge and Bacon who were importers, brewers and shipowners. Everards, who were also brewers, entered the banking business in 1826 and sold it to Gurneys' Lynn Bank in 1861.
