London and Northern Joint Stock Bank

This bank was established in London in 1862 with branches at Leeds, Newcastle, Hull and Middlesborough. It got into difficulties as a result of a lawsuit in 1864, and the branches at Huddersfield, Leeds and Sheffield were transferred to the Midland Banking Co.
