Saxton Brothers, Market Drayton

The exact date as to when this private bank was established is unclear, although the name of Saxton does appear in the 1851 Bankers Almanac, which suggests it commenced shortly before. The bank must have survived the various financial crises of the period, as it was taken over by the Midland Banking Co in May 1873.
