Tubb and Co (Bicester and Oxfordshire Bank)
Thomas Tubb, grocer, was one of the founders of the Bicester and Oxfordshire Bank in 1793, though it was also styled Kirby and Co at an early stage. The bank operated in Bicester and Oxford. Following dissolution of the existing partnership c1855, William Wooten and James Undersell took over the Oxford Branch, and Henry and George Tubb took the Bicester Branch (as Tubb and Tubb). The title of the firm varied according to changes to the partnership, but by 1885, Henry Tubb was the sole partner and remained so until the business was acquired by Barclays Bank Ltd in 1920.
