United Counties Bank Ltd
United Counties Bank Ltd is the name adopted by the firm in 1907 following the merger of Birmingham District and Counties Bank with Bradford Old Bank in that year. In 1916 United Counties was acquired by Barclay and Co Ltd, giving Barclays a stronghold in the West Midlands and West Riding. This was the largest acquisition by Barclays up to that point.
