Climate tech is key to delivering the next generation energy system, helping to improve the resiliency of the energy grid, increase energy efficiency, and diversify energy supply.
Home to over 5,000 climate tech start-ups and scale-ups1, the UK has a thriving ecosystem, but these technologies now need to move through the adoption curve at pace, delivering their products at scale.
Across Barclays, we work with climate tech founders at the frontline of this energy system transformation, facilitating connections to our global network of clients and partners where we see alignment between commercial challenge and technological opportunity.
Serving success
In our latest instalment of our ‘In the Field’ series, Barclays’ Steven Poulter visited the All England Lawn Tennis Club to see for himself the impact of the bank’s introduction to climate technology company, Naked Energy.
Thanks to Barclays’ backing, 130 of Naked Energy’s solar thermal tubes have been installed on the roof of the Club’s Aorangi Pavilion, supporting the hot water system that supplies the players' showers in the building.
