Barclays Group CEO Jes Staley spoke to US business news channel CNBC about geopolitical risk, the state of global markets and the European banking landscape.
Stock movement was very much a by-product of what was going on with rates. People couldn’t hedge themselves on rates, so they defaulted to bank stocks. I don’t think it underscored any particular issue with respect to European banks.
