Barclays Appoints Philipp Gillmann as Head of Logistics Banking EMEA
Barclays Investment Bank today announces the appointment of Philipp Gillmann as a Managing Director and Head of Logistics Banking EMEA (Europe, the Middle East and Africa). Mr. Gillmann will be based in Frankfurt, and will report to Peter Kimpel, Head of Banking for Germany, Austria and Switzerland, and Asim Mullick and Richard Probert, Co-Heads of Industrials Banking EMEA. Mr. Gillmann will work closely with Chris Brooks, Co-Head of Global Transportation Banking and Head of Logistics Banking, and Chad Parker, Co-Head of Global Transportation Banking, to further develop cross-border opportunities for global clients.
Mr. Gillmann joins Barclays from Rothschild & Co where he spent more than 13 years, most recently as a Managing Director in the Global Advisory Group leading coverage of the logistics sector globally, as well as the business services sector in the DACH region. Prior to Rothschild & Co, Mr. Gillmann was a corporate finance project manager at accounting and consultancy firm EbnerStolz. Notable transactions that Mr. Gillmann has advised on include DSV A/S’ CHF4.6bn public exchange offer for Panalpina, the recommended US$1.4bn takeover of UTi Worldwide by DSV A/S, and the US$2.3bn public takeover of Elster SE by Melrose.
