Barclays appoints Mike Figg as Head of Social Housing

Barclays today announced the appointment of Mike Figg as Head of Social Housing at Barclays UK Corporate Bank. Mike takes up the role from 1 July 2024 and will lead Barclays’ work across social housing, which serves over 160 housing associations.

Mike will be responsible for the Social Housing team’s range of financing solutions, sector engagement and relationships with key stakeholders and policy makers.

Mike joins from HSBC, where he held the position of Deputy Head of Housing. With over 20 years’ experience in the financial services industry, the last five of which in leadership roles in the real estate sector, Mike brings deep sector knowledge and capability to the role.

Commenting on the announcement, Mike said: “I’ve long admired the work Barclays does in the social housing space and am truly excited to join their world-class team. I’m committed to helping deliver on the bank’s vision for a simpler, better and more balanced operation and can’t wait to get started.”

This appointment reinforces Barclays’ commitment to investing in top level talent in order to deliver on the bank’s strategy and financial commitments over the next three years.
