Our history in the South West
The Consolidated Bank of Cornwall amalgamated with Barclays and Co in 1905. The Consolidated Bank was a combination of a number of Cornish banks and had come into being between 1889-1896
The image of the West Country is of a quiet, relaxed place, where the pace of life is not hectic. But there is much more to the region than picture postcard villages and wide, sandy beaches. No other region of the UK has the South West's rich diversity. Ancient monuments and historic market towns co-exist with modern business parks and high-tech communications.
