Chairman, Investment Banking
Joe McGrath is Chairman of Investment Banking. Based in New York, he is also a member of the Group Executive Committee and the US Executive Committee at Barclays, and he also serves on the board of Barclays’ US Intermediate Holding Company.
Joe is responsible for maintaining senior relationships with key corporate and sponsor clients, as well as capital allocation and the conflict process within the global Banking business.
Previously, Joe was Global Head of Banking and in this capacity oversaw the provision of financial advisory, capital raising and risk management services to corporations, governments and financial institutions worldwide.
Joe is a steadfast advocate for diversity in the workplace, participating in numerous mentoring and sponsorship programs across the firm, with a particular focus on promoting emerging talent and women in Banking. He also sits on the Americas Citizenship Council, which oversees strategic programs to foster regional economic growth and opportunity, and is the senior sponsor for the Unreasonable Impact Program, one of Barclays’ flagship Citizenship programs.
Joe joined Barclays in 2006 from Goldman Sachs. He holds a BA in Economics from Colgate University and an MBA from The Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania. He currently serves on the Board of Trustees at Colgate University.
