Previously Matt was responsible for leading the Retail Lending team across the Barclays UK business. Before taking this role in 2018, Matt was Head of Retail Products and Segments, which looked after mortgages, consumer lending, our current account proposition and digital offering. These roles built on responsibilities that he held for the client and customer experience team and UK Retail and Business Banking business in 2013.
Prior to that, Matt was the Group Head of Corporate Relations, where he led several group functions, including Corporate Communications, Brand and Marketing, and Citizenship and Government Relations. Matt’s previous roles also include Chief of Staff to John Farley, Head of Group Strategy and UK RBB Marketing Director. Matt joined Barclays in 2004 after nearly 12 years’ experience as a management consultant with experience across the Americas and Europe, split across financial services, consumer products and energy.
Matt has a degree in mechanical engineering from Yale University, and an MBA from the University of Chicago.
