We started our business because… today’s insurance industry is falling behind. Last time I went to an insurance broker I had a really frustrating experience the whole process took a long time and they kept making mistakes. I didn’t understand how, with all the technology we have available, this could still be happening. I knew a change had to be made.

LeO is… a personable 24/7 customer service solution for the insurance industry powered by AI. LeO helps agents, brokers, and insurance carriers simplify the way they interact with consumers. With LeO’s AI algorithms you can automate time-consuming and paper-heavy processes, and provide data-driven insights about your customers.

Our biggest challenge… has been convincing our target market – insurance brokers and agents – that they truly need to change. It’s an old-fashioned industry, but they are realising it’s time to evolve. For example, fewer millennials are choosing to buy from local insurance agents as they simply don’t speak the same language – LeO is here to solve that problem.

One thing I’ve learnt from LeO is… if you want to drive impactful change, then sometimes it is best to work within the constraints of the industry. I’ve realised that “disrupting” an industry from the outside isn’t always the best option. That is why we choose to be a B-to-B company.

I wanted to join the Barclays Accelerator because… it presented us with a great opportunity to see how one of the largest corporations in the world works. They’ve helped us to progress, and shown us how to shape and design our product according to industry needs. Perhaps the most valuable thing about the Accelerator is that throughout the process there was always someone to listen to our queries and offer us help. That was really important for our development.

I’ve always been driven… to solve any problems that I come across. Whether it’s in my daily life or professionally – the bigger the problem, the better. I love the challenge of finding something that doesn’t work, and figuring out an innovative solution.

Our highest point… was signing our first paying customer! After putting in so much work, it was great to see someone enjoy the solution our great team created. I think for any entrepreneur, seeing your work being appreciated is one of the greatest feelings you can experience.
