Introducing the Barclays Community Football Fund

Football opens doors to skills that last a lifetime. That’s why Barclays is giving grants to community sports groups who need it most.

At Barclays, we believe in creating opportunities for all through access to football. That’s why we’re proud to announce, in partnership with Sported, the new Barclays Community Football Fund offering grants, training, kit and exclusive ticketing offers to make football more accessible in communities across the UK.

How can my club or group get involved?

The Barclays Community Football Fund has been set up in partnership with UK-wide charity Sported. To find out if you are eligible, and to apply for a £500 grant for a community sports group you work with – visit the Sported website.

Community sports groups can apply to receive:

  • £500 cash grant to spend on increasing young people’s access to play
  • Access to inclusivity training and coaching
  • Barclays branded bibs and exclusive offers on discounted kit and equipment
  • Exclusive opportunities to apply for Premier League and Barclays Women’s Super League tickets, mascot opportunities and ambassador appearances

About the Barclays Community Football Fund

The innovative new fund helps to reduce inequalities in football, with grants available to groups that wish to start offering football, or expand their existing programmes to new, under-represented audiences*. The programme focuses on including girls and young people from lower socio-economic and under-represented groups: including racially diverse communities, people with disabilities, and people from the LGBTQ+ community.

The fund will support 5,500 community groups across the UK with a total investment of £1mn a year for the next three years. This will engage more than 300,000 young people in inclusive football activities.
